THOUSAND OAKS, CA
FEB 2009: I visited Los Robles Hospital's Emergency Room to have a fever checked out (the fever was gone the next day). The visit however was a nightmare, and reached a boiling point with receipt of the hospital's bill. The separate physician's bill which included a surcharge for seeing us after 10pm didn't help either. Read on...
Los Robles Hospital is more concerned with profits than patientsí care. How else can a $4900 bill be explained to diagnose a fever?
*The physicians at Los Robles will request as many laboratory tests as they can possibly bill for.
*You will be billed a physician's surcharge when arriving to the ER after 10 PM, even if when the physician is scheduled to work that shift.
*Good luck finding an
ER physician. Although I'm sure that this place is legally bound to minimum
staffing rules, we were unable to locate a physician during most of our visit.
*I would be furious if my medical
records were released to another person without my consent due to a careless
mistake, and have yet to hear from the hospital on how this error will be
prevented in the future (I am not holding my breath). Perhaps I should call that
patient and inquire on his well being.

So - if you want quality and honest medical
care, please - Stay away from Los Robles Hospital in Thousand Oaks, CA.
