VONS and PAVILIONS supermarkets--they are popular in Southern California, but did you know that they may keep a very detailed record of what items you purchase, use, and prefer?

Yes, unfortunately, when you use your VONS Savings Card at VONS and at PAVILIONS super markets, a database can easily be assembled with the items that you purchase: brand names, size, price you paid, whether or not you used coupons, when you were there, etc.

>>> Would you want someone to know how many kids you have, their ages, eating habbits, address and telephone number?

>>> Do you really want others to know when and how much you spend on groceries, beer/wine, toiletries, etc?

>>> Did you know that Vons has two separate computer terminals -- one can be used to show the customer that no additional data is tabulated other than their address, drivers license, and checking acct#, and the other terminal for store managers only, which tabulates every purchase, coupons used, and other information that most people still find disturbing?

It seems that other markets in the area are using similar schemes, but VONS looks as if it is the most deceptive. Just walk into any VONS/PAVILIONS store, look at price labels on shelves, and email us your comments.
